I’M BACK!!!!!!

After a 17 month hiatus thanks to my new found friends at the Department of Interior, I have returned to write about my newest air powered addition, the Broco*k Contour S6.

I’ve always wanted one, but couldn’t justify the price of $730. Then they discontinued the rifle a few years ago. I swore if I ever had an opportunity to purchase one, I would. I missed a chance last year. Luckily last month, I found one in .22 topped with MTC Viper Connect 3-12x for $500. Slamming good deal thanks to Gun Broker.

And then it arrived. With 4 years worth of pent up Broco*k rage, I creamily yearned to pop off those first few rounds before dark. I hooked it to my Hill pump and found that I had a fast leak on the check valve in the male foster fill fitting. I sent an email to Airguns of Arizona. They still haven’t responded. Luckily, the issue was easily fixed with the help of a local oring distributor and an 004 oring.

So why should I report the performance on a rifle that has been discontinued for a few years? Well, there are still a few floating around and most importantly, there’s not many reviews that go in detail on the performance. I’ll save you the overview of the rifle… With one exception. It’s tiny and I love the form factor.

The first step was to fill the rifle to 200 bar and shoot a string over the chronograph with 14.3 gr Crosman premier hollow points to determine shots per fill, extreme spread and energy level:

856, 866, 862, 866, 855, 865, 849, 842///, 829, 822///, 818, 809, 800, 792.

8 shots with an ES of 24fps. 10 shots with an ES of 44. Low shot count with a nice spread for an unregulated gun. 50 pumps to bring it back to pressure after 12 shots. Average velocity was 850 fps generating 23 foot pounds of energy. Impressive for such a small rifle.

Then I fired 5 shot groups at 25 yards with several different pellets and measured group size:

HN Sniper Mag 18gr 0.28″

JSB 15.89gr 0.34″

HN Bar Hun 18gr 0.4″

Then I fired groups at 50 yards with the most accurate pellets tested:
